Ironically, it was just in March when I was sitting in the Living Room watching TV when I heard a loud noise that sounded like a giant cymbal...."sheeshing"....coming from another room. When I checked out the Bathroom, I was greeted by an image I have never seen before. There, before me, was complete annihilation of one of my shower doors. Coating the floor and the bathtub where millions of 1/16" glass cubes. It was just as if someone had thrown a brick right into my glass shower door.

What caused this to happen ?

Checked the internet and that is when I heard the term "spontaneous glass breakage" for the first time. Also known as "exploding glass", it apparently can be caused by several different things including, "binding of the glass in the frame, causing stresses to develop as the glass expands and contracts due to thermal changes or deflects due to wind."

Obviously, there is no end to the problems we can have owning a home !
